Monday Night Pig Roast at the 320

Brand new this year, the ranch offers a Pig Roast every Monday night on the deck. It's open to the public and it's on a first-come, first serve basis. For $10/person you get tons of fun and tons of food: slow-roasted pulled pork sandwiches with a choice of two mouth-watering sides, beer on tap from the local Lone Peak Brewery and toe-tapping music by one of our local musicians. It's all happening on our outdoor deck, right next to the restaurant overlooking the mountain vistas and the Buffalo Horn Creek. Come on by anytime from 5-8 p.m. don't miss the fun!

Rodeo

It wouldn't be the West without a rodeo, and the annual Big Sky Rodeo is held at our indoor arena every 4th and 5th of July. There are two nights of classic rodeo events, including barrel racing, bareback, bull and saddle bronc riding, team roping, and events for young cowboys and cowgirls too. It's always a bunch of fun for contestants and onlookers alike!

Sleigh Rides

Picture this: you glide beneath a deep-black, star-dotted Montana sky, with only the sound of crunching snow and the jingling harnesses of the Percheron draft horses, which are skillfully guiding you along the half-frozen Gallatin River. The wool-wrapped wranglers talk about the 320’s remarkable history, and maybe tell a few tall tales along the way. You and your family, along with the new friends you’ve made, arrive at the mountain man campsite, where you’re handed a steaming mug of cowboy chili, and some hot cider spiced with rum. Montana’s famous cold winters really aren’t that cold, you think to yourself.

No wonder our sleigh rides are so popular! Make your reservation now.

Sleigh rides begin at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. We also offer a special 9:00 p.m. ride during peak season. The 320 Guest Ranch does not offer Sunday rides so our horses can have a day off.

BBQ and Hayrides

The West wouldn’t be the West without horseback riding. Miles of trail lead out from the ranch into pristine Montana wilderness, where guides and experienced horses ensure a fabulous adventure for all skill levels. For a real taste of the Old West, you can enjoy a good old fashioned chuck wagon dinner down by the river.

There’s nothing better than a dinner by the river, the smell of sizzling steaks wafting through the air—no wonder this is one of our most popular events! Wednesday evenings we invite you to take a 2-hour horseback or hayride to dinner. On the menu is your choice of N.Y. strip steak or barbecued chicken, prepared on an open grill along the banks of the Gallatin River. We can almost taste those steaks right now!

Trail Rides

If you’re coming to see Montana, you really need to see it from the back of a horse…

Let Marce Hoffman, our Horse Operations Manager, and his professional wranglers show you why riding is a way of life out here. Our wranglers cover 2,000 trail miles each year and take care of trail maintenance all summer long, so you know you’re in the hands of experts.

Take a ride through high mountain meadows or to the top of 10,000-ft. peaks. You can see the Sunken Forest that natural forces created in 1959, not to mention a wide variety of wildlife including elk, deer, eagles, moose, coyotes, bears, and if you're lucky, maybe even a wolf.

We offer many options from a “quick fix” to an overnight. See for yourself and make your reservation today.

In addition to trail rides, we have one of the largest indoor arenas in Montana which enables us to offer year-round boarding and riding that's unparalleled in the area. We pride ourselves at having some of the best trail horses and riding country in the entire region!

Things To Bring

For riding horses, be sure to bring long pants (jeans are best). Cowboy boots are preferred of course, but any shoe with a smooth sole and a heel will work. Open-toed shoes such as sandals or Texas just don't work in stirrups so we can't allow them as your only footwear for rides. Cowboy hats are optional, but if you've got one, now's the time to wear it! Just make sure it has a stampede string (so it doesn't come off your head in the wind).
